Racial residential segregation has a long and persistent history in the United States. Data from the most recent decade give hope that housing patterns and racial attitudes are moving—albeit slowly—toward integration.

Excited to report that the Jan-Feb 2012 issue of the Utne Reader has written up Ren Farley's article "The Waning of American Apartheid?" in their Emerging Ideas section. It's a great, almost Contexts-discoveries-style piece that really engages the article. Not yet online, but expect to see it here soon:
