Covering true femininity in all possible ways. Darkly Ironic.
I find the photo to be beautiful. She looks beautiful in it, and it represents a cultural clash in the most gorgeous way possible. She is not anti-Muslim. When she said, “F*ck Afghanistan” she didn’t mean to demonize Afghanistan as a country or as a people. She is criticizing the treatment of women in the middle eastern world.
The content is obvious….the producers of this photograph and article are pretty much saying that women are objects in the Muslim world. If you check out the interior photographs, a man is holding her as if he was a man holding his newly-given bride, as a trophy and as his new property.
She is representing a sexual being whose only role is that of sexual provider for whichever man owns her. I find it fitting. Lil’ Kim is a huge cultural and sexual icon here in the United States, and is known for not only sexually objectifying herself, but sexually objectifying men, the way men in her field of music objectify women.
Kudos Lil’ Kim ! <3
I don’t see how objectifying oneself, as well as others, is in any way, shape, or form, a protest against how some people in Afghanistan objectify women.
I think it is nice. I would love to see here modeling with a ‘44 to the head of a cowering bin Laden and him wimpering at her harsh commands.
