This is not sexist in any way. I'm not being sarcastic.
Look at it this way: in 1943, many of these women were entering their first jobs- AS ADULTS. Almost all men had already had many jobs or were in the military.

Thought the language is condecending, the advise (if not the resoning) given in numbers six through ten could easily apply to all employees, not just women.
