Sociological (de)motivation

Cynical takes on motivational posters are cropping up all over these days, like these Demotivators, and the Werner Herzog Inspirationals. Considering the genuinely upbeat and congenial nature of sociology, it seemed high time to share some motivational gems from famous sociologists (or people like sociologists). Anyone can provide cheap motivation or simple cynicism, but sociology can really take it to that next level.
